There are many environmental concerns in Europe including air pollution, acid rain, deforestation, climate change, natural resources and nuclear disasters. These environmental issues occur because Europe is a very touristy continent. Issues also arise from agriculture, industries, energy, transportation, and fisheries.
One of the main problems with air pollution is that it rises from one country into the atmosphere and it can be carried to other countries. The three pollutants that harm human life and the environment are nitrogen dioxide, particulate matter and ground-level ozone. High ozone levels are extremely harmful to crop damage, which lowers the amount of available food for human consumption.
Humans also over-exploit the natural resources in Europe. Because of the over-exploitation, humans are more dependent on other countries and trade. Humans can cause an end to life by depleting our resources. The Earth needs time to replenish its natural resources.
A nuclear disaster that occur in Europe is the Chernobyl disaster in Ukraine in 1986. An explosion and fire occurred at this power plant and many harmful chemicals and pollutants were released into the air. During the time of the event, 31 people died. Today, surrounding countries are still being effected and some people are still being diagnosed with cancer from the event.
