The government in Europe is mostly controlled by the European Union. The union is broken into 7 different areas:
-European Parliament
-Council of the European Union
-European Commission
-European Council
-European Central Bank
-Court of Justice of the European Union
-European Court of Auditors
The European Union (EU) is made up of 28 countries across Europe that form a partnership. The EU was created after World War II. The EU was created to encouraged interdependent relationships among countries in Europe that trade frequently. It was created to minimize conflict between countries. The EU runs on the rule of law. All members agree upon what is done through the founding treaties. The EU is mostly democratic and powers are handed over the the European Parliament.
The EU abolished border rules and that is why people can travel freely throughout Europe. The core values of the EU are:
-Human dignity
-Freedom
-Democracy
-Equality
-The Rule of Law
-Respect for Human Rights
